With 2009 drawing to a close, many people will embark upon the tradition of New Year’s resolutions. Getting organized is a goal set by many, and Cozi can help with this. Here’s 3 quick ways

Get on the same page as your spouse or partner by keeping all your important appointments in one place on your Cozi Calendar. You can use the Cozi Outlook plugin to keep your work calendar in sync, and easily let home know that you have a late meeting or drinks with the team that will keep you out after the usual time!
Resolve to keep your kitchen stocked by keeping your Cozi Shopping Lists up to date, and dropping by the grocery store or market on the way home from work. You can get your shopping lists from your mobile phone (either visit the mobile site at http://m.cozi.com or call 1-888-808-COZI (1-888-808-2694) and have your lists read to you or sent by SMS)
If you spent hours putting together a list of things your family did this past year in time for the holidays, try out the Cozi Family Journal. You’ll save hours come Holiday 2010 and can even have monthly newsletters sent to your relatives to keep them updated.

HOWTO: Keep your friends and family up to date with a monthly family journal!

Cozi’s family journal is a great way to keep friends and family up to date with the comings and going in your family. It can difficult for your friends and family to remember to view your family journal regularly, so Cozi makes it easy to have a monthly journal update go out to everyone on your mailing list! It’s easy to get Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Joe on your mailing list.

First, remember to update your journal regularly with all the things that your family is up to. Then, it’s easy to turn on newsletters!

From the ‘Send by email‘ menu, choose ‘Send monthly email newsletters‘

You can send yourself a sample newsletter by clicking on the ‘Send a sample newsletter’ link!

The sample newsletter will be sent to the email address of the household member that is Adult 1.

When you click the ‘Yes, send monthly email newsletters’, you can import the email addresses of your friends and family from your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and many other accounts! You get to pick and choose who receives your newsletter, and Cozi will tell you when the next newsletter is due to be sent!

If your friends and family don’t want to receive the newsletter, they can unsubscribe from the newsletter themselves or you can remove them from the mailing list! And you can turn off the newsletter whenever your want!

HOWTO: Add a repeating event to your new Cozi account

It’s easy to get started with Cozi, and to add new events to your calendar! Cozi is really great for organizing your family, so it’s best to start off by creating your Cozi account and adding your family members to the Household settings page. Once you have your family members, adding a new event is as easy as typing ‘Visit grandparents from 3 to 4p’

Cozi makes it easy to add calendar events just by describing the event in English!

Advanced TIP:

You can even create the repeating event for Child1 and Child 2 right from the main calendar screen by typing ‘Child1, Child2 Visit grandparents from 3 to 4p every Monday’

TIP: Add online ‘ical’ calendars to your Cozi Calendar

There’s no need to add in all your favorite holidays yourself — chances are that someone has a calendar on the Internet that you can use and have displayed as part of your Cozi calendar. It’s easy! Just go to the Settings page, and choose Calendar options (shown below) or just logon to Cozi and enter http://cozicentral.cozi.com/settings/calendar.aspx in your browser.

From there, you can add either one of the provided Holiday Calendars, add your own calendar, or even look to see if your child’s school publishes their calendar online already, and add it to your family calendar!

There are lots of places online where you can find useful calendars — just search for ical and your favorite term. For example, if you’d like to add your favorite NFL team’s schedule to your Cozi calendar, you can search for NFL ical and choose from the various sites the provide the team schedules in ical format! A great way to get to see when family events and NFL games might just conflict, so you can reschedule that dinner with the in-laws and you could be on your way to familial bliss!
